Biography (en)
Most people view photography as something that brings us closer to things and reality. And, in fact, the industry and most people who use photography go to great technical lengths and efforts to make images produced by cameras always look as if they did so (or at most allow for a few normalized variations, as styles). But why insistently fight its nature? I would say that it is precisely in what it takes away, in what it differs, and how it draws us into diverse things and objects, into its own world of metaphor and visual experience, that lies its beauty and, personally for me as an author, its interest.
I am devoted mainly to developing visual projects and usually engage with portraits and documentary, but also branch out my activities to commercial photography assignments (advertising, portraiture, fashion and editorial).
Studied music, art history, visual culture studies, and obtained a MA in Design and Visual Culture, specializing in Photography Studies, from IADE, Lisbon.
I am, since 2008, an Epson Digigraphie certified author and printer.
Based in Lisbon, I can frequently be found travelling throughout all of Europe and Brazil.
Current interests lie in the relationships between image, medium and identity, as performance.
